About King Crossing

King Crossing sits along the northwest edge of Katy, where the Katy-Hockley Cutoff meets Stockdick School Road. Beazer Homes and Pulte Homes teamed up on the project, and that partnership shows in the way the lots, entries, and streetscapes feel considered rather than rushed. If you have driven this part of town lately, you already know how fast it went from open prairie to established neighborhood. King Crossing landed right in the middle of that shift.

The first homes went up around 2014, and the builders finished the final phases by 2019. By then the community had grown to roughly 800 single-family homes across about 320 acres. That five-year build window matters more than it sounds, because it gave King Crossing real variety in floor plans and elevations instead of a copy-paste streetscape. As a result, you can drive a couple of blocks and see genuinely different homes, rather than that cookie-cutter clutter.

Children here attend Katy ISD, specifically Faldyn Elementary, Stockdick Junior High, and Paetow High School. Buyers will like that a couple of those campuses sit close enough for a short morning run rather than a cross-town slog. For commuters, the Grand Parkway waits roughly two miles east and opens up the rest of the region in a hurry. And the Texas Heritage Parkway, a newer connector, offers a quicker route to the Richmond and Fulshear areas that are also seeing strong growth.

About the Area

Pull away from the entrance and you find yourself in a stretch of Katy that has filled in fast with shopping. Houston Premium Outlets sits a short drive north and pulls in bargain hunters from across the region. Closer to home, the FM 529 corridor has stacked up everyday retail, from Burlington to Bath and Body Works, so quick errands rarely turn into expeditions. Fairfield Town Center and Grand Morton Town Center round out the choices when you want more under one roof.

Dining keeps multiplying as this side of town matures. Katy Asian Town has become a local favorite for its HMart grocery and lineup of multicultural restaurants, and it makes an easy trip when you want something different. For family outings, Katy Mills Mall delivers more than 175 stores plus an AMC theater and the construction-themed Dig World park. Nearby, Main Event at Katy Ranch Crossing covers bowling, laser tag, and go-karts when the kids need to burn off energy.

When the weather turns warm, Typhoon Texas Waterpark becomes the go-to escape, and the upcoming Katy Boardwalk District beside it promises top notch shopping, dining, and entertainment. Commute-wise, the Energy Corridor sits about 20 minutes east along Interstate 10, which suits the many residents who work that direction. Downtown Houston runs closer to 35 or 45 minutes depending on traffic, a fair trade for the elbow room you gain out here.

Amenities

King Crossing puts everyday fun within walking distance, starting with its resort-style pool and shaded pavilion. On a warm Texas afternoon, that covered seating becomes the social heart of the community, where neighbors swap stories while the kids splash away. Speaking of which, the splashpad gives little ones a safe spot to cool off without the worry that comes with deeper water. Together, these features make summer weekends feel a lot less stressful for parents.

Water shows up throughout the community in the best way, since several lakes wind through the neighborhood with fountains that add a calming touch. Many residents enjoy an easy evening stroll along the trails that connect these green spaces. Because the paths thread past the parks and pocket green areas, you can walk the dog or push a stroller without circling the same block twice. Honestly, those trails quietly become one of the features people love most.

Beyond the water, the community keeps families busy with a playground that gives kids room to burn off energy after school. The clubhouse and gathering spaces give residents a natural place to meet up, host, or simply slow down for a bit. Parks tucked throughout the layout mean you rarely have to drive just to find a patch of grass. Altogether, these amenities create the easygoing, neighborly setting that buyers picture when they imagine settling into Katy.

Property Taxes & HOA Dues

Homes in King Crossing receive their annual property tax assessments from the Harris Central Appraisal District. The total tax rate consists of several different taxing entities, which can vary depending on the part of the community where you live. These rates typically apply to the school district, MUD district, and county or city services, and can periodically be adjusted. In most cases lowering as the community is built out.

As of the time of this writing (June 2026), the average property tax rate for homes in the neighborhood is 2.77%. Just as with every home in the Katy area, these rates apply to every $100 of a home’s valuation. The current average sales price is $336,000, which we’ll use to map out how property taxes work. To understand how that plays out, that $336,000 home could expect to pay $9,307 / year in property taxes:

$336,000 / $100 = $3,360 x 2.77 = $9,307.

This of course does not take into account homestead, over 65, and other tax exemptions that offer significant tax savings. Read more about how property taxes work in our area. As of the time of this writing, the annual HOA Dues here are $925. That figure would be regarded as average for a small community of this size.

Homes in King Crossing

Homes in King Crossing generally range from about 1,500 to 4,000 square feet, which leaves room for everyone from first-time buyers to growing families. Since the builders finished the community back in 2019, all activity now happens on the resale market. Pricing typically falls between the high $200,000s and the mid $500,000s, depending on size, updates, and location within the neighborhood. That spread gives buyers a real range of options at different budgets.

Lot styles vary nicely across King Crossing, so you can find the setting that fits how you live. Standard subdivision lots make up much of the community, yet plenty of corner lots and cul-de-sac homesites show up as well. Better still, a good number of homes back directly to the lakes or green space, which gives those properties a peaceful view you cannot add later. Just note that you will not find golf course lots here, since the neighborhood does not surround a course.

Two well-known national builders shaped King Crossing, and their reputations carry weight. Pulte Homes brings decades of experience and a name buyers recognize for thoughtful layouts and dependable construction. Beazer Homes complements that with energy-efficient designs and a strong track record across the Houston market. Because both builders worked here together, you get variety in style without sacrificing the consistency that keeps a neighborhood looking cohesive over time.
