Lamar Consolidated ISD

Community involvement plays a key role in the success of Lamar CISD. The community’s support for students at athletic and cultural events, approval of new school constructions, and the numerous volunteers assisting teachers and students daily contribute significantly. Additionally, the dedicated men and women serving on advisory committees and those financially supporting the Lamar Educational Awards Foundation underline the community’s impact in making Lamar CISD an excellent place to raise a family.

Lamar CISD consistently prioritizes students. The campuses, designed with smaller enrollments (high schools capped at 2,000 students), provide ample leadership opportunities and participation in activities. The district’s unique approach includes sixth-grade-only campuses at middle schools, focusing on pre-adolescents’ needs and ensuring a smooth transition to secondary education.

Proudly an HEB Excellence in Education Large District winner, Lamar CISD is home to National Principals of the Year, Gates Millennium Scholars, National Blue Ribbon Schools, Rodeo Art Grand Champions, and State Athletic Champions. Over the past 15 years, Lamar CISD has successfully passed four bond referendums while maintaining one of the lowest tax rates in the Houston area.
