Silver Ranch is zoned entirely to the Katy Independent School District (KISD). Neighborhood children will attend Jenks Elementary, Tays Junior High, and Tompkins High School. Jenks Elementary is located roughly one mile west of the community, while Tays Junior High and Tompkins High School are situated along the north and south borders of the neighborhood, respectively.

Katy ISD occasionally performs attendance boundary modifications, as families move in and out of certain areas. It’s important to note that while your home could be rezoned to other schools, it cannot be rezoned to another district. According to the Texas Education Agency‘s most recent accountability ratings (2022), Katy ISD has an overall district rating of “A”.

As of the time of this writing (2024), the average property tax rate is 2.44%. Because of the differences in the age of homes here, as well as varying taxing entities, this rate could be lower or higher. The rates apply to every $100 of a home’s value.

For example, a $350,000 home could expect to pay $8,540 / year in property taxes. ($350,000 / $100 = $3,500 x 2.44 = $8,540. As of the time of this writing, the average annual HOA Dues in the neighborhood are $850 / year. In the Katy area, for a community of this size and the number of amenities available to residents, those dues would be considered fairly typical.

Homes in the Silver Ranch community range from as low as 1,428 square feet to a little over 5,000 square feet. Current resale pricing ranges from $390,000 to nearly $800,000. Ersa Grae Corp. completed the development, and builders finished the last new construction home in 2019. As a result, no new construction homes are currently available in Silver Ranch.

Lot sizes range from about 3,800 square feet to over 16,000 square feet. In the community you’ll find waterfront lots, standard subdivision lots, corner lots and cul-de-sac lots; in single and split level configurations. Builders in Silver Ranch include K. Hovnanian, Meritage Homes, David Weekley Homes, Brighton Homes, and J. Patrick Homes.
