The overwhelming majority of the neighborhood is located within the boundaries of the award-winning Lamar Consolidated Independent School District. Because Tamarron is such a large neighborhood, resident children in the Lamar Consolidated sections could attend either Huggins Elementary, Randle Elementary, or Tamarron Elementary depending on location of your home. All students in the Lamar Consolidated sections will attend Roberts Middle School, Leaman Junior High and Fulshear High School.
There a couple of smaller sections within Tamarron that are zoned to the award winning Katy Independent School District. Just as with the LCISD sections, elementary age children will attend either Wolman Elementary or Campbell Elementary, depending on location. All students in the Katy sections will attend Adams Junior High and Jordan High School.
Both districts are rapidly growing; therefore, it’s important to remember that they may occasionally adjust attendance boundaries as families move in and out of certain areas. Although homes in our area can’t be rezoned to different school districts, they can still be reassigned to different schools within the same district. Please verify attendance zones on the Lamar Consolidated ISD website and the Katy ISD website prior to purchasing your new home.
According to the Texas Education Agency, both Lamar Consolidated ISD and Katy ISD have district ratings of “A” in the most recent school report cards.

The Fort Bend County Appraisal District assesses property taxes in Tamarron. The total tax rate varies based on where you live in the community, as it’s made up of several different taxing entities. These will typically include the school district, the mud district, and county or city services but could even vary based on section.
As of the time of this writing (2024), the average property tax rate is 2.876%. Because of the differences in the age of homes here, as well as varying taxing entities, this rate could be lower or higher. The rates are applied to each $100 of a home’s value.
For example, a $400,000 home could expect to pay $11,504 / year in property taxes. ($400,000 / $100 = $4,000 x 2.876 = $11,504. This of course does not tax into account homestead, over 65, and other tax exemptions that offer considerable tax savings. Read more about how property taxes work in our area.
As of the time of this writing, the average annual HOA Dues in the neighborhood are $1,250 / year. In the Katy and Fulshear area, those prices are fairly average for a master-planned community, especially considering the extensive amenities this community offers.
Homes in the Tamarron community range from as low as 1,263 square feet to nearly 4,800 square feet. Current resale pricing ranges from $275,000 to over $615,000. All development in the community has been completed, but there are still available lots on which to build and new homes are available from $290,000 to $430,000 as of the time of this writing (2024).
Lot sizes range from about 5,400 square feet to over half an acre (25,000 sf). In the community you’ll find waterfront lots, greenbelt lots, standard subdivision lots, corner lots and cul-de-sac lots; in single and split level configurations. Builders include D.R. Horton, Perry Homes, and Emerald Homes.
