There are several playgrounds tailored for children, along with picnic areas that families often use for casual gatherings and weekend barbecues. For the athletically inclined, there are basketball courts, tennis courts and a competition swimming pool all geared towards promoting an active lifestyle and offering a place for both organized sports and spontaneous games. The property taxes in Woodcreek Reserve are assessed by the Fort Bend County Appraisal District. The total tax rate is comprised of several different taxing entities depending on which part of the community you live in. These will typically include the school district, the mud district, and county or city services but could even vary based on section.
As of the time of this writing (2024), the average property tax rate is 2.656%. Because of the differences in the age of homes here, as well as varying taxing entities, this rate could be lower or higher. The rates are applied to each $100 of a home’s value.
For example, a $400,000 home could expect to pay $10,624 / year in property taxes. ($400,000 / $100 = $4,000 x 2.656 = $10,624. This of course does not take into account homestead, over 65, and other tax exemptions that offer considerable tax savings. Read more about how property taxes work in our area.
As of the time of this writing, the average annual HOA Dues in the neighborhood are $1,452 / year. In the gated section, HOA dues are $1,900 / year. In the Katy area, for a master planned community, those would be considered on the high side considering that other nearby communities with far more amenities are under $1,000 / year.
